This online course will review one of the BBC Sport productions, which is behind-the-scenes documentary about how Lionel Messi succeeded in lifting the World Cup – the only trophy to have eluded him in an incredible career.

The following topics will discuss in this online session:
Main features of a documentary that achieve the right effect
Key elements and techniques of documentary production
How the production of this documentary design/structure was shaped?
Music and sound effect selections for this documentary
Innovative production style through framing, colour grading, camera positions, archive selections
The production design of the pinnacle events
The style of the storytelling and actual events (World Cup matches).

This session is presented by Dr Hassan Jamalinik

Dr Hassan has been producing, directing, shooting and editing TV programmes since the late eighties. He has also worked as a commissioning editor and executive producer of documentaries from Europe to the Americas, Africa and Asia. His extensive career also includes roles as director in multi-camera, studio based productions – live chat shows, news, events, seminars, conventions, film festivals, plus educational programmes.

Dr Hassan has over 30 years of experience in television production. In 2015 established London TV Training Ltd. Between 2009 and 2015, he was also Documentary Commissioning Editor at News Anew Ltd. In 2010, and a member of Participatory Management Consulting, The Future of the Educational Television at TRT, Anadolu University, Eskisehir (Turkey).
