Misinformation and disinformation has drastically increased in recent years, spread intentionally or unintentionally via social media, media outlets, organisations and political parties.
How can we recognise, manage and counter misinformation and disinformation?
In the Taming Misinformation webinar, you will hear from leading experts on the subject who will help you understand the extent of misinformation and provide you with strategies for dealing with it.
The webinar is delivered by AsiaVision and the ABU Media Academy in conjunction with 360info.org, an independent not-for-profit, global wire agency working with researchers worldwide. Tanya Notley
Associate Professor, Western Sydney University (UWS)
Tanya Notley’s research is focused on digital inclusion, media literacy and media justice. Tanya’s current focus of research projects includes the politics of digital media infrastructures; communication and social impact; young people and news media; adult media literacy; the digital mapping of emotions; and evidence and human rights advocacy.

Prof. Daniel Angus
Professor of Digital Communication in the School of Communication, Digital Media Research Centre at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
Daniel’s research focuses on the development and application of visual computational analysis methods in communication and media studies, with a specific focus on conversation and social media data.
