Do you have a love for sports and media? Eager to take charge in the exciting realm of sports broadcasting? The Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) is seeking a motivated, creative, and energetic Manager / Assistant Manager to become a key player in our Sports Department.

The ABU Sports Department. 

ABU is an international professional organisation of broadcasters with more than 250 members in over 70 countries with a mandate to assist the development of broadcasting in the region. ABU promotes the collective interests of television and radio broadcasters as well as key industry players and facilitate regional and international media co-operation.

The ABU Sports is one among the important and crucial departments serving ABU members. Its role includes the acquisition of media and broadcasting rights to managing and coordinating international sports events and on-site production for ABU members, maintaining relations with sports federations and rights holders, and the organisation and management of other activities that may be requested by the ABU members.

 

Summary: Duties & Responsibilities: 

The Sports Project Manager/Asst Manager shall assist the Director, ABU Sports Department in content acquisition, production and coverage of sporting events as well as the negotiation of media rights to international sports events for, and on-behalf ABU members; liaise with satellite and telecom service providers, host broadcast organisations and regulatory authorities on the provision of the coverage of such events; the preparation and execution of back-to-back contracts with ABU members covering all aspects of such sports coverage; ensure that all commitments are invoiced to members; help maintain relations with sports federations and rights holders among others.
